The rich and full palate displays layers of cassis, blueberry compote, toast, smoky black cherry with ample yet refined tannins. Delightful with steak and rich dishes. Aged 18 months in 100% French oak; 68% new.

The 2009 Pinot Noir is characterized by vibrant red/blue fruit flavors. The complex nose displays ample red plum, raspberry, dried currant, clove, allspice, and a touch of fresh tarragon. The palate is rich and supple, highlighted by flavors of bing cherry, blueberry tart, star anise, toast, pepper, cassis, black raspberry, and violets with a fleshy mid-palate and fine tannins on the long, silky finish. This Merlot-based blend opens with aromas of black cherry, black plum, tobacco, cardamom spice and sweet toasty oak. Soft on the entry, its ripe tannins build slowly through the mid-palate to a finely structured finish. Dark fruit flavors of plum, black currant and blueberry are accented by notes of dried herb, cedar and sweet vanilla. The 2010 Number 9 Pinot Noir possesses an alluring combination of freshness and structure. Made in a nearly dry style (“Medium Dry” by International Riesling Foundation standards) this is a richly aromatic wine offering layers of honeysuckle, citrus blossom, ripe cantelope, tangerine, wet stone, and a hint of diesel. On the palate it opens with a burst of sweet white pear, clover honey, and spiced dried apricots with hints of minerality. The wines natural acidity balances its residual sugar, carrying through to a lingering juicy finish.
